- Meet regularly with each other on a regional basis
- Share best practices in a small group setting
- Establish a strong network of peers
- Gain technical advice and career direction

Bios of Presenters
RALPH THOMAS
VP of Strategic Analytics and Database Marketing at Seminole Gaming
Dr. Ralph Thomas is vice president, strategic analytics and database marketing for Seminole Hard Rock Gaming. During his nearly 10 years in the casino industry, Thomas has focused on leveraging big data analytics to maximize profitability. He has operated under dual roles as both a developer of BI tools and a strategic business user of these tools. Prior to entering the industry, Thomas spent 15 years in academia, as both a student and a lecturer of mathematics. He has two master's degrees in mathematics from University of Chicago and Princeton University and a Ph.D. in mathematics from UNLV.
Terry Padgett
Solution Engineer at Hortonworks
Terry Padgett is a Solution Engineer at Hortonworks with over 24 years of experience in the development and application of advanced information technologies, providing software project leadership, software architecture development and assisting customers in the application of technologies to provide capabilities and solve pressing problems. He has been working directly with technologies in the Hadoop ecosystem for over two years and was part of a team which fielded the first Hadoop-based cloud to a forward area for a federal customer and now utilizes his background to assist Hortonworks customers in finding solutions to their Big Data problems. Terry resides in the greater Washington, DC area with his family and possesses a graduate degree in Software Systems Engineering and an undergraduate degree in Electronics Engineering Technology.
