“How to Ensure Business Impact from Analytics”
By Rajeev Kumar, Vice President of Solutions and Strategy Planning at ThrivOn

Abstract
For many organizations, big data analytics groups seem to exclusively focus on the 3Vs, models, algorithms and the "lift" that models create. Sadly, these organizations miss the opportunity to impact their business performance through analytics.
This session will:

  • Examine practical insights into organizational "decisioning processes"
  • Understand how big data analytics consumers make use of analytics
  • Outline a framework for "Analytics Competency Center" that ensures ROI for big data analytical investment.

“Successful Strategic Planning in the World of Big Data”
By David Loshin, President of Knowledge Integrity, Inc.

Abstract
It is difficult to ignore the growing influence of broad, massive streams of data from unexpected sources, especially when these data sources can directly influence customer satisfaction, expose opportunities for revenue generation, lead to brand risk, or improve customer profiling. Medium- and long-term technology plans attempt to address known information management needs through acquisition of hardware, software, and corresponding expertise. However, as we have seen over the past ten years, it is often hard, if not impossible to predict how revolutionary changes and external forces are to be addressed within an existing information management plan.
In this session, we consider how developing a strategic information management plan goes beyond the ability to handle massive data volumes. We look at how a well-planned information strategy helps establish a foundation for enterprise information capabilities, enable agility in the face of emergent trends, yet allow the organization to remain business outcome-focused.
You Will Learn:

  • How we can learn from the experiences of integrating social media data into the analytical environment
  • Why the challenges of big data will continue to grow
  • Best practices in developing a flexible information architecture
  • The value of leveraging a strategic enterprise information plan

11:45 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
