March 20, 2013 - Featuring 2012 Excellence in Business Intelligence People’s Choice Winner, BioGrid Australia. Presented by Maureen Turner, CEO, BrioGrid.

In October 2012 BioGrid Australia won The People’s Choice Award in the prestigious Australian Excellence in Business Intelligence Awards. Join us as we share their award winning journey and gain insights into their pioneering work. BioGrid Australia operates a leading federated data sharing platform that allows authorised medical and health researchers to dynamically extract data from multiple sources whilst protecting patient privacy. For years doctors and hospitals across Australia have been collecting information on various diseases and the way in which they are diagnosed and treated for the purposes of research. Most of this information is stored within individual databases. Using analytical tools BioGrid Australia provides the technology to link anonymous patient information from these different databases in a way that maintains the privacy of the patient and the security of the information. This means information from greater numbers of patients can be combined, leading to more effective and powerful research.
