Presentation: "Analytic Workflows - Defining and documenting BI requirements"
by Tory Tolton, Senior Manager – Hitachi Consulting

Abstract

Analytic Workflows are a method for defining and documenting requirements that drive actionable BI. The method helps overcome the typical challenges in getting business people (who may not be very “data” or “analysis” savvy) to articulate requirements in a tangible way and in alignment with decision making and business processes.

“Analytic Scorecards - A new way of visualizing business performance”
by Karl Haberl, Principal BI Lead – Microsoft Engineering Excellence

Abstract

In a complex world of information overload, a dramatic paradigm shift in performance management is needed. The mantra “What’s measured gets managed” must become “What’s visible can be improved”. Analytic Scorecards leverage a new visualization technique and scorecarding method where businesses can not only measure their performance but also develop and refine a simple framework for identifying and focusing on those areas with most business impact.

7:40 -8:00 p.m.

Q&A / Discussion
