We cordially invite you to attend this courtesy event organized by the TDWI Ottawa-Gatineau Chapter to explore where the practice and experience being gained in the field of Business Intelligence is taking us. What skills will be needed and what tools will be available to help us?
Connect. Share. Learn.
ATTENTION ALL CIO’s AND BI/DW PROFESSIONALS IN THE OTTAWA-GATINEAU REGION
The pressures felt by organizations today, both public and private, to conduct their business efficiently have never been greater. This has meant that individuals at all levels are faced with critical decisions at a pace that is unprecedented. The challenges they often encounter of acquiring data of high quality, at the right time and in the correct format, to support those decisions can seem daunting at times. And if the past is a good indicator of what is to come, we should not expect this pace to slacken in the foreseeable future.
Fortunately, strategies have been developed in the last couple of decades that help us address these challenges. We now have powerful and reliable techniques, supported by excellent software products, which help us in our quest for the information we need to do our jobs. These will continue to evolve as we learn to exploit new hardware and software architectures that promise to provide access to our data where and when we need it on a variety of platforms.
You are invited to a special meeting of the Ottawa-Gatineau Chapter of The Data Warehousing Institute in which the top five major vendors of these products will provide us with a critical view of what the future promises. With their unique global perspective they will be able to impart important insights into where the best practices are taking us – insights that will be invaluable to us as we prepare ourselves and the organizations we manage for the significant changes we know are coming
We have planned a morning during which each of the vendors will be given a half hour to describe where they believe the array of skills we call “Business Intelligence” is going. The morning will finish with all of them participating in a panel to discuss what they have told us. This will give us an opportunity to ask questions we may have and for them to elaborate on any issues that are raised.
Refreshments and a light lunch will be provided.
