March 13, 2013: Foxtel’s Data Discovery – The Strategic Advantage
Information and analytics have played a critical role in the successful growth of Foxtel from its start-up origins to a mature organisation now with revenue over $2billion per annum. Foxtel’s business intelligence journey has evolved in stages in line with changes in the focus of the business. It began with an initial concentration on marketing and management information, progressed through customer service and product analysis, and now continues with all these and the creation of new data-based products for customers. Business Intelligence at Foxtel is based on key principles such as the ‘Single Source of Truth’ and a culture of evidence-based decision making. The importance of information assets and capabilities continues to grow and create new opportunities, especially with the proliferation of data available in Foxtel’s digital ecosystem. Data discovery continues to be an exciting strategic initiative for Foxtel, and a key source of strategic advantage.
