May 1, 2013: Big Data, Concepts, Platforms, and Applications.

Sorry, Registration is Closed

The University of Sydney have extended an exclusive invitation to our Sydney Chapter members to join them on for this exciting presentation by international guest speaker Dr Hugh Watson, University of Georgia, Terry College of Business.

Big Data is creating both opportunities and challenges. On the opportunity side, it is giving companies the chance to better hear the voice of the customer, improve organisational operations and performance, and provide greater context for decision making. Organisations are discovering, however, that their current data infrastructure is often inadequate for storing and analysing Big Data. In this presentation, you will learn about Big Data concepts and terminology; Big Data analytics; examples of how companies are realising high payoffs from the analysis of Big Data; evidence of the ROI from Big Data; the technologies, approaches, and platforms for storing and analysing Big Data; and how to integrate Big Data into an existing BI/analytics infrastructure. Research opportunities with Big Data are also discussed.

Connect. Share. Learn.
